Yep, the first update and bug fix pack for Virusdie Plesk extension just been released 🙂 After the initial launch of the Virusdie extension for Plesk an extension run issue been found. That issue caused for many reasons from your web-browser settings right to firewall runs behind your web-server. So that was a real problem to start Virusdie extension for Plesk. The majority of all these kind of issues been fixed and covered by the new version v.1.0.1-27 already available on Plesk’ marketplace. The new. Friendly. Yours! This is the new Virusdie file editor with malicious code highlighting and this is a new step along the vision you love. The first generation of the file editor was just awesome. You love it and we know it why 🙂 A malicious code highlighing, malware descriptions, lot of file details and even popular hot-keys like CTRL+S were supported there! And the same time, that was not so convinient to scroll the file content to find the highlighted code fragments. And the threat names takes lot of space at the left bar of the file editor. And that wasn’t so transparent you can click on the threat name to find more details and recommendations. Did you know Virusdie firewall been made run nicely with no any setup? There is an adaptive engine under the hood and it recognises the threat weights of each request to decide to block a request, block IP address or not. And it block IP addresses depending on the level of threat for seconds or minutes automatically. But, there are too many plugins for websites and for today, lot of them uses architecture or an approach that make multiple cross requests for any action on website. Did you know we monitor more than 60+ blacklists? And recently we found some blacklist data providers are not fits good enough for Virusdie customers and for us as well. This is not due blacklist data providers’ not enough performace, but due to a complex factor, like: untransparent approach of malicious/harmful sites detection (for example, it looks like some lists in some cases, may refer to other lists and not have an own opinion; or some providers may marker sites as balcklisted just there is no Policy on website or eg.); untransparent de-blacklisting process, not so fast support. Lot of false positives on our opinion in terms of malware. And, at last, the lack of sense in monitoring these lists due to the fact that they do not affect anything in the life of customer sites. So, from today we will no longer annoy you with the data from the following blacklist providers: Clean MX, CRDF and Valkyrie (by Comodo). (more…)
Introducing summary security repots feature – a feature that everyone has been waiting for! Weekly and monthly summary PDF-reports are automatically created for your entire account. You get it by email. They contain information about the number of site incidents for the most recent interval. The weekly reports are sent every Monday, and they contain only general statistical information and the number of incidents. A comprehensive monthly report is sent on the first day of each month, containing general information about incidents in your account and a separate, detailed report for each site. (more…)
